West System

West System epoxy is used for a variety of repair, maintenance, and construction applications. They offer versatile products that can be used for composite construction and repairs that require a moisture-resistant coating, bonding, or filling.

Epoxy Resin

105 Epoxy Resin® is a clear, low-viscosity liquid epoxy resin. Formulated for use with one of four WEST SYSTEM® hardeners. It can be cured in a wide temperature range to form a high-strength solid bond with excellent moisture resistance. 105 Epoxy Resin, when mixed at the proper ratio with a WEST SYSTEM hardener, is an excellent adhesive.

Working time (thin film) is based on which hardener you choose at 72°F (22°C):

  • 205 Fast Hardener®: 60 to 70 minutes
  • 206 Slow Hardener®: 90-110 minutes
  • 207 Special Clear Hardener®: 100-200 minutes
  • 209 Extra Slow Hardener®: 3-4 hours

Based on which hardener you choose, solid-state curing happens in a wide range of durations at 72°F (22°C). Minimum recommended temperatures:

  • 205 Fast Hardener®: 40°F (4°C)
  • 206 Slow Hardener®: 60°F (16°C)
  • 207 Special Clear Hardener: 60°F (16°C)
  • 209 Extra Slow Hardener®: 70˚F (21˚C)
  • 105-A: 1 quart
  • 105-B: .98 gallon
  • 105-C: 4.35 gallon

Epoxy Hardeners

We stock four different epoxy hardeners each used for a different application.

205 Fast Hardener

205 Fast Hardener

205 Fast Hardener® is formulated for general coating and bonding applications at lower temperatures and to produce a rapid cure that develops its physical properties quickly at room temperature. The 105 Epoxy Resin®/205 Fast Hardener system forms a high-strength, moisture-resistant solid bond with excellent bonding and barrier coating properties. The mix ratio is 5 parts resin to 1 part hardener by volume. Not intended for clear coating.

  • Pot life (100 grams cupful):
    • At 72°F (22°C): 9 to 12 minutes
  • Working time (thin film):
    • At 72°F (22°C): 60 to 70 minutes
  • Solid state:
    • At 72°F (22°C): 6 to 8 hours
209 Extra Slow Hardener

209 Extra Slow Hardener

209 Extra Slow Hardener® is formulated for use with WEST SYSTEM® 105 Epoxy Resin® or general coating and bonding applications in extremely warm and/or humid conditions or when extended working time is desired at room temperature. Provides approximately twice the working time of 206 Slow Hardener®. 105/209 forms a high-strength, moisture-resistant solid with excellent bonding and coating properties. The mix ratio is 3 parts resin to 1 part hardener by volume. Not intended for clear coating.

  • Pot life (100 grams cupful):
    • At 72°F (22°C): 40 to 50 minutes
  • Working time (thin film):
    • At 72°F (22°C): 3 to 4 hours
  • Solid state:
    • At 72°F (22°C): 20 to 24 hours
206 Slow Hardener

206 Slow Hardener

206 Slow Hardener® is a low-viscosity epoxy curing agent for use when extended working time or a longer cure time is needed. It also provides adequate working time at higher shop temperatures. When combined with 105 Epoxy Resin® in a five-part epoxy resin to one-part hardener ratio, the cured 105 Epoxy Resin/206 Slow Hardener mixture yields a rigid, high-strength, moisture-resistant solid bond with excellent bonding and barrier coating properties. The mix ratio is 5 parts resin to 1 part hardener by volume. 206 Slow Hardener is not intended for clear coating.

  • Pot life (100 grams cupful):
    • At 72°F (22°C): 20 to 25 minutes
  • Working time (thin film):
    • At 72°F (22°C): 90 to 110 minutes
  • Solid state:
    • At 72°F (22°C): 10 to 15 hours
207 Special Clear Hardener

207 Special Clear Hardener

207 Special Clear Hardener® was developed for coating and fiberglass cloth application where an exceptionally clear, moisture-resistant, carbon fiber or natural wood finish is desired. 207 Special Clear Hardener will not blush or turn cloudy in humid conditions. Thin film applications roll out and tip off smoothly, requiring less sanding in preparation for finish coatings. The mix ratio is 3 parts resin to 1 part hardener by volume.

  • Pot life (100 grams cupful):
    • At 72°F (22°C): 20 to 26 minutes
  • Working time (thin film):
    • At 72°F (22°C): 100 to 120 minutes
  • Solid state:
    • At 72°F (22°C): 10 to 15 hours

Metering Pumps

WEST SYSTEM Epoxy Metering Pumps are calibrated for reliable metering of WEST SYSTEM Epoxy Resin and Hardener at the proper mix ratio while eliminating mess and guesswork. The correct epoxy resin-to-hardener ratio is important to ensure that the epoxy reaches its full potential for cured physical properties. Our pumps come in various capacities suitable for every epoxy user, whether you use epoxy only occasionally for small projects or use great quantities of it daily in a major manufacturing operation.

300 Mini Pumps

300 Mini Pumps are designed for convenient and accurate metering of Group A, B, and C sizes of the WEST SYSTEM® 105 System. The 300 Mini Pump Set Contains one resin pump and two hardener pumps. Pumps mount directly on the resin and hardener containers and eliminate the mess involved with measuring by weight or volume.
