Sawstop
SawStop is a tool company that makes table saws with a safety system that stops the blade if it touches skin.
How it Works
The blade carries an electrical signal that changes when skin touches it, which activates the safety system. The system includes a digital signal processor that monitors the signal, and a heavy-duty spring that releases an aluminum break into the blade teeth when skin touches it. The teeth then dig into the aluminum, stopping the blade. This happens so fast that you might not even see it.
